The refurbished rooms look alright, showing some effort to create a modern vibe that catches the eye. The breakfast offered a decent variety, and having a relaxing bar with an open fire is a nice touch when you're winding down after a long day.
The heating in my room was a problem. it started off freezing, and even when the radiator was on, it switched off too soon, leaving me in jumpers for the night. The hotel is definitely a work in progress. there were some cleanliness issues like dirty skirting boards and cobwebs in the room. The décor throughout was a bit messy overall, which detracted from the experience.

I had a lovely stay at this stone-built hotel! The room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was hearty with a full Scottish spread. The new owners are super welcoming, making it a cozy stop on my travels. Only downside? A bit of noise from outside, but it’s part of the charm!

Curiosity got me
A delightful discovery! The new owners create a warm atmosphere, catering even to special dietary needs at breakfast. Cozy nights by the open fire in the bar added charm. This hotel, nestled conveniently near the motorway, is ideal for travelers venturing north or south.
